The End Of Peer To Peer

As the sunlight flooded the BHT Reception, so some 25 people filled the area. Staff and Clients gathered for what was in theory a sad occasion, the closing of the Peer to Peer Drop-In. Having run for several years the popular and successful group had to leave as the funding ran out.

The ‘Barcelona’ chairs- (designed by Mies van de Rohes from Bauhaus in 1929.

for a German exhibition there.)were filled with guests eating their sandwiches. The food was  delightful, the sandwiches were a dream and the other repast, sweets and wraps was worthy of Michelin Stars.

A spirit of elation ran through the partying guests and the hopes for the future ran high. We had to be reminded this was a serious occasion. It was poignant for example, that some staff members would leave and might not be seen again at BHT.

There was some hope that a new tender for Floating Support would be successful.

Andy Winter CEO hosted the most successful event. There is a photographic reminder of the whole group.

Although PxP has closed there is a Drop In at Preston Park which has things e.g. art facilities as well as other things visitors can do. It is meant for people with Mental Health Problems.

The address: Southdown Housing Trust, Preston Park Recovery Centre, 18 Preston Park Avenue, Brighton, BN1 6HL
